Kevin Reed, CIM | Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Kevin brings considerable experience in capital markets and related investments. Previously, he co-founded a trust company (regulated by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions), where he served as vice-chair and CEO. In other executive roles, including chair, he has seen companies through IPOs and successful turnarounds. Over the course of 14 years, with six companies, Kevin achieved in excess of 80% annual returns.

Josh Cooksley, MBA | Chief Financial Officer

Josh knows regulatory landscapes, having worked with entrepreneurs to acquire, integrate and build rapid-growth businesses, including a Canadian chartered bank (regulated by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions) and a consumer food company (regulated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency). With oversight, licensing and operational experience, he knows how to execute and deploy investment capital.

Brad Kipp, CPA, CA, CFA | EVP, Investments

With extensive public-company experience, in Canada and international markets, Brad knows capital markets, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. He currently serves as a director and audit committee chair with a Canadian chartered bank (regulated by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions), as well as a silver mining company listed on both the TSX and NYSE.

Tim Wasik, CIM, MBA | EVP, Deals & Opportunities

A 20-year veteran of capital markets, with both domestic and international brokerage firms, Tim was managing director at Scotia Capital and Barclays Capital, where he serviced Canadian institutional accounts. He also founded and was president of the independent asset management firm MAHOGANY.

Jean Lépine, MBA | EVP, Regulatory, Communications & Investor Relations

Jean has operated in leadership roles in electronics (NYSE:HAR), beverage alcohol (NYSE:BUD) and innovative pharmaceuticals (NYSE:AZN) in Canada, the US and Europe. He also invested 10 years working in Canada’s Federal and Provincial Governments (Ontario). He is the Founding Chair of the Organization of Independent Cannabis Entrepreneurs (OICE). He earned an MBA (Western University) and B.Soc.Sci (UOttawa).

MK Marsden, Board Member

MK Marsden is currently the Founder and Managing Partner of Touchpoint Strategies, a New York and Toronto-based management consulting company founded in 2009 focused on accelerating the growth of its clients in the areas of digital transformation, customer acquisition and customer experience strategies. She has served on the Board of the following companies: Fujitsu, Japan (2001-2003), Hire.com, Texas (2004-2006), Clear Cube Inc., Texas (2002-2005), Adcentricity, NYC and Toronto (2009-2012), and Stud Clark Entrepreneur Centre, University of Manitoba (2009-2017).
A leader in digital marketing MK served as the Head of Global Marketing and SVP of Client Solution Center at Epsilon, a NYSE-listed global marketing services company, from 2012-2015. She also served as the SVP of Sales Online Advertising, General manager and SVP Sales Digital at Acxiom, Inc, a NASDAQ-listed consumer data products and digital marketing services firm from 2005 – 2009. In addition to her current role, her extensive entrepreneurial experience in the areas of marketing, strategy, and digital transformation began early in her career, when she founded and was the CEO of Message Effect, she was Founder and Managing Partner of Mar. Com Group in Austin, San Jose and Tokyo, one of the industry’s first integrated marketing communications company servicing the high-Tech industry from 1994 – 2003. MK started her career in Ottawa in 1982 and is a graduate of the University of Ottawa.

Robert Storey, Board Member

Mr. Robert Storey is a successful Canadian entrepreneur and businessman with business interests largely in the broadcasting and communications and sport industries in Canada and abroad. He is Chairman of a private sport consultancy that provides engineering and project management services to Olympic sport facility constructors based in Calgary. He has served as a director and / or officer of a number of private and public companies in North America and national and international Olympic Sport associations and federations. Through his consultation company, Masabe, he has provided consulting services to Olympic bids on and organizations at 10 Olympic Games on all continents. He was Chief International Strategist for the successful Vancouver 2010 Olympic Bid. his involvement in Olympic sport spans more than 45 years as an athlete, international administrator, volunteer and official. He served as President of Bobsleigh Canada for 14 years and as a director / member of the Canadian  Olympic Committee (“COC”). He continues as an Olympic Supporter of COC and serves on its International Relations Committee.

Larry Goldberg, CPA, CA | Board Member

Mr. Goldberg began his career in the early days of the software industry, as a partner in a software company focused on the property management and development industry. The company became the undisputed industry leader in Canada, grew to over 200 people, and was sold in 1995. After the sale of the company, Mr. Goldberg continued in senior financial / operational roles for early stage, fast growing software companies, before joining a publicly-traded investment company with a focus on commodities, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. During his ten years there, Mr. Goldberg acted as the CFP for the investment company and two of its investee companies, all of which were public. In addition, he served on the boards and audit committees of several private and public companies and was involved in numerous private placement and prospectus equity financings. Since leaving the investment company in 2010, Mr. Goldberg has held senior financial roles in a variety of industries, including software, energy storage, organize foods and financial services. As well, Mr. Goldberg served for three years on the Audit Committee of the largest uranium producer in the United States and is currently chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Nominating and Compensation Committee of a TSX listed uranium exploration company.
